LEXICON OF ORIENTAL WORDS IN ANCIENT GREEK

αρααβ <Semitic; Hellenistic period>

👉 αρααβ – ‘the head, the chief’ (LXX: 1 Chr. 24.31).

🅔 A distorted transliteration of Biblical Hebrew hārōʾš, i.e. rōʾš ‘head; chief, leader’. The final -β (vs. Hebrew -š) is an error. Note also the difference between the Greek and the Masoretic vocalisations.
