ἄρμαρα <Egyptian?; Roman period>
👉 ἄρμαρα, indecl. (or pl. n.?) – ‘a kind of aromatic resin’ (PGM IV 1294 and 1990: 4th c. CE).
⚠ The word is attested only in a magical papyrus from Egypt.
🅔 Perhaps an Egyptian word? Cf. a common view that ἄρμαρα is a variant of ἁρμαλά ‘wild rue; rue’, but they are rather two different lexemes.
📖 Ref.: cf. EDG: 134.
