ἀντουεριμβέσωρ <Egyptian; Roman period>

👉 ἀντουεριμβέσωρ (vv.ll. ἀντουενρινβεσωρ, ἀντουερινβεσωρ) – an Egyptian gloss with the meaning of βούγλωσσον ‘large blue alkanet, bugloss (Anchusa azurea Mill.)’ (Dsc. 4.127 RV).

Dsc. 4.127 RV: βούγλωσσον· (...) Αἰγύπτιοι ἀντουεριμβέσωρ (...). – “Buglōsson (large blue alkanet): (...) the Egyptians (call it) antuerimbesōr (...)”. Cf. the Egyptian gloss in Ps.-Apul., Herb. 41: antuerenbesiar (vv.ll. antiesiligitor, antuenerucsor) ‘a kind of alkanet (a species of the genus Anchusa L.)’.
