👉 ἀστερίσπα – an Egyptian gloss with the meaning of πράσιον ‘horehound (Marrubium peregrinum L. or M. vulgare L.)’ (Dsc. 3.105 RV).
⚠ Dsc. 3.105 RV: πράσιον· (...) Αἰγύπτιοι ἀστερίσπα (...). – “Prasion (horehound): (...) the Egyptians (call it) asterispa (...)”. Cf. the Egyptian gloss in Ps.-Apul., Herb. 45: asteritam (vv.ll. asterion, asetepan/aseterpan) ‘id.’; moreover, cf. asteritam ‘id.’ (Ps.-Orib., De simpl. 1.32), but without an ethnonym.
